Melina Aslanidou
Melina Aslanidou is one of the most beloved Greek singers with a distinctive and captivating voice! Her first contact with music began at an early age with the participation of the choir of her birthplace, Paralimni Ioannina, where she came into contact with the music of Pontus, Byzantine music and traditional Thrace music. During at school, she actively participated in the organization of choirs and theatrical performances, while during her studies in Thessaloniki she sang in student hangings. In 2001 Melina Aslanidou was a member of the band Oi Apenanti. The band released the albums “To Parelthon Thimithika” and “Mikri Kardia”, which contains a new version of the song “Ti Sou Kana Kai Pinis”, that became a huge success. One year later, she left the group and move to Athens, where George Dalaras proposed her an on-stage collaboration. In 2003, she released her first personal album entitled “To Perasma”. Melina Aslanidou has interpreted songs that are “diamonds” of the Greek repertoire, counting collaborations with great songwriters. At the same time, she has stood out for her live performances, both with her esteemed colleagues and solos. Lastly, in 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 she was a judge / coach on “The Voice”, and in 2019 he participated on the “X Factor” jury. In 2020 she collaborated with the established composer Giorgos Theofanous, releasing two singles, entitled “Geia Soy” and “De Vazis Mualo”.
