Thodoris Voutsikakis
Thodoris Voutsikakis is one of the most excellent Greek performers of the younger generation. Holder of a Monodia diploma, but also a law degree, he attended modern song lessons (Arts Educational Schools London | Ceris Deveril | Arnaoutis’ Foundation Scholarship), musical performance (Sia Koskina | PMTP) and acting (Christos Papastergiou | Transformations). His first major performance was in November 2012 at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, with his participation as a soloist in an opera gala, while at the same time he performed pieces by Gustav Mahler in collaboration with the Thessaloniki Symphony Orchestra. His first solo album, “Aisthimatiki Ilikia”, with music by Dimitris Maramis, was released in 2014 and received excellent reviews. He has also participated in albums such as “Floga Pou Kaiei”, “Aleli – De Creta a Buenos Aires” and “Ston Aera Tou Melodia”. His multi-years collaboration with Lina Nikolakopoulou led to his first major personal tour with the signature of the great lyricist, as well as their record collaboration with Oscar-winning Italian composer Nicola Piovani, “Omorfi Zoi”. The album was presented at the audience live, before the release, at Megaron – Athens Concert Hall, with the great partnership of the Athens State Orchestra and became immediately no1 in sales. Among others, he has collaborated with Stavros Xarchakos, Christos Leontis, Maria Farantouri, Marios Frangoulis, Dulce Pontes, Luis Borda, Nikos Xydakis and Daphne Alexandri and he had performed at places such as the Herodeion, the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus, the Abbey de Neumunster, the Athens and Thessaloniki Concert Halls etc.. Also he performed Erotokritos in the eponymous musical and a great success of the Alternative Stage of the National Opera, with music by Dimitris Maramis.
