Giota Negka
Giota Negka is one of the most popular singers in the modern history of laiko music genre. From the age of eight, her penchant for music and singing was evident, while her father played the bouzouki as an amateur and her mother sang. In 1992, she created with some friends a small music scene, “Emmetro”, in Moschato, where she performed until 1996. From 1996 till 2002, she performed in well-known rebetadika in Athens, next to great names of the genre, such as Nikos Dimitratos, Maria Soultatou and Nikos Saragoudas. After participating in albums of other artists and concerts all over Greece alongsinde Panagiotis Kalantzopoulos, Evanthia Reboutsika and Elli Paspala, she reached the discography. In 2003 she released the single CD “Me Ta Matia Klista”, which immediately became a success and remains timeless, while, a year later, she released her first full-length album, “To Velos”. She then released the albums “Eho Anthropo” (2007), “Kainourgio Fili” (2014) and “Teleftaios Eautos” (2015), all with strong interpretive moments. In January 2020, she presented the album “Ayto Pou Thelis Sti Zoi To Kataferneis”,a collaboration with the composer Nickos Moraitis and the songwriter Nickos Mertzanos. Four songs of the album, “Oxygono”, “Vres Mou Enan Allo”, “Dio Nisia” and “Diarkeia Mias Zois”, became a success before its release. Her countless live performances include sold-out live shows on major music stages, festivals and tours throughout Greece, as well as collaborations with artists such as Vassilis Papakonstantinou, Eleni Tsaligopoulou, Pantelis Thalassinos, Miltos Paschalidis, Gerasimos Andreatos and the Estoudiantina orchestra.
