Katerina Stanisi is one of the most important Greek singers of the laiko music genre. At the age of 16 she went on stage for the first time, in a nightclub in Germany where her family had emigrated and there she met the well-known agent Nicholson, who encouraged her to return to Greece and pursue a career in singing. In 1974 she made her first appearance on Greek soil, at the nightclub “Mocambo” in Larissa, where she sang for three seasons with the then rising Paschalis Terzis and, two years later, she began to appear next to Rita Sakellariou and do vocals on her records. She has become established in 1982; while appearing alongside Vicky Moscholou, Litsa Diamanti and Kostas Karousakis, the conductor of the orchestra, Takis Mousafiris, a composer and lyricist of great popular hits, wrote for her the hit “Mystike Mou Erota”, a song that included in her eponymous first album, which went gold. Many of her songs, such as “S’ Eho Kanei Theo”, “Ellines Eimaste”, “Sygnomi Kyrie Pios Eiste”, “Na Sou Kano Mia Erotisi”, “Otan Leme Erota”, “Apo Pou Ki Os Pou”, “Ta Astra Kai Ta Zodia”, “Tora Ti Zitas”, “Mia Kyriaki Apogevma”, “Dimosia To Dilono”, “M Ena Kokkino Karavi”, “Agapao Dyskola” and “Ena Dakry” are among the most beloved and timeless songs of the Greek discography. Katerina Stanisi has collaborated with the greatest composers and lyricists, while she has appeared in the biggest nightclubs of Athens and Thessaloniki, she has collaborated on stage with dozens of her colleagues and has given concerts all over the world. She has also appeared as a singer in movies and TV series and participated in the show “Just The 2 Of Us” (2014).
